We are a specialty gourmet food company with the single vision of bringing to your table a wide range of foods old and new.

Initially, our sweet offerings explore flavors associated with immigrants from Central Europe and the Middle East, Africa, South America, and Western Europe, and reflect in our view a dedication to excellence. As the owner, my tastes and interests mirror a myriad of joyful food experiences I encountered at home and during my travels around the world.

The background for these offerings lay in the history of a family. My grandmother, born to an ex-slave, picked cotton as a young woman in the very Carolina fields where her mother labored. Life and opportunity led her and her sisters to Chicago to join the thousands of African American women who could only find work as Domestics. That is, doing “day work” and cooking in homes so unlike their own.
